ScreenGeek had the honor of attending Variety’s ’10 Actors To Watch’ event at this year’s Newport Beach Film Festival. One person among the crowd of talented people in the film industry was actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead. Best known from Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, 10 Cloverfield Lane, and All About Nina, she is set to play as Huntress in the new DCEU film Birds of Prey (and The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn). ScreenGeek was able to catch up with her on the red carpet to see how filming was coming along on the DCEU movie: You’ll be playing…

Clive Barker’s remake of Hellraiser would have seen a change in the villainous Pinhead. Originally debuting in 1987, it was an instant classic. Based on Barker’s novella, The Hellhound Heart, it follows a man who has escaped from hell after opening a mysterious puzzle box. His love, who also happens to be his brother’s wife, feeds bodies to him so he can regenerate. The demons who tormented him find their way to him and drag him back. Barker’s gory and very graphic vision was shocking to audiences. They were introduced to Pinhead (Doug Bradley), and though his role was minimal…

World War Z 2 will start shooting in June. This project has been on the table for quite some time. When director David Fincher (Seven, Gone Girl) came on board last year, it seemed to gain momentum. On the red carpet, Variety asked for an update on World War Z 2, and they sounded optimistic. The answer Gardner offered up was, “We’re starting to shoot in June.” June is eight months from now,…

Tom Hardy stars as Venom in the new Venom movie, and there is so much Venom, there will actually not be any room for any Spider-Man. While at the press junket, Hardy invoked Venom’s disdain for Spider-Man by questioning his full hero potential. So, what exactly does Hardy think is holding Spider-Man back? His suit. Actually, the…

The Dead Center is part of the thriller genre, and though I generally stay away from this type of film for the huge disappointment they tend to be these days, I took a chance on this one. The summary in the “About The Film” section on the LA Film Festival website caught my attention, but it still felt like it encompassed some old thriller tropes that have been done before, and I was on the fence. The story is about a man who wakes up in a body bag and wanders into the hospital’s psychiatric ward. No one knows his…
