Women’s wrestling has progressed a great deal in a few short years. Once upon a time, back in the vaunted Attitude Era, women like Chyna, Lita, and Trish Stratus proved that they were more than just pretty faces. They could put on matches that were just as amazing as the men’s bouts – sometimes, in Chyna’s case, even battling and defeating the men. Then everything took a huge step backwards. The progress made by these trailblazing ladies was tossed aside, in favor of returning them to the eye candy / valet / love interest role. And for the ones who…

By now, we’ve all seen the horrific season 7 premiere of The Walking Dead, “The Day Will Come When You Won’t Be.” And I’m sure we’re all in agreement that this show, and especially this episode, are most definitely not viewing suitable for children. It was one of the most brutally violent episodes in television history, with two beloved main characters being beaten to death (and then continuing on until there was a disgusting pulpy mess where their heads used to be) with a barbwire-wrapped baseball bat, in front of everyone who loved them. The wielder of the bat, known…

I had a few people over on Halloween night. We roasted marshmallows and talked comics. At one point, my brother asked me, “Do you think Johnny Blaze will ever show up on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.?” I said, “I don’t know. He’s pretty brutal for network TV. Besides, what would they do with two Riders?” 24 hours later, I was proven wrong. Tuesday night’s episode of Agents let us in on a bit of the history of Robbie Reyes, the incarnation of the Rider chosen to appear on the show. He said he made a deal with a devil to become…

New images have been officially released from the set of 2017’s Beauty and the Beast, showing Belle (Emma Watson) in the familiar yellow ball gown, and Beast (Dan Stevens) in his regal blue coat. We also see Belle in her outfit from earlier in the film, while she’s still in her village (white dress with a blue apron); Gaston (Luke Evans) sitting on a horse, looking like the imperious twit he is; and, straight from your childhood, the familiar sentient clock, teapot, candlestick, and feather duster. The impressive cast also includes Ewan McGregor, Kevin Kline, Emma Thompson, Sir Ian McKellan,…

Some things just can’t be unseen. The First Couple of WWE, John Cena and Nikki Bella, took Halloween a step too far. Adhering to the old adage that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, the wrestlers decided to dress up as each other. Nikki Cena wasn’t too horrible, but John Bella is the stuff of your most hilarious nightmares. With a long black wig, red FEARLESS belly shirt, and yes, even the black crotch-cutter booty shorts, John undulates awkwardly in a burned-in-your-brain facsimile of Nikki’s signature dance. Take a look. But don’t say I didn’t warn you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5TmwVCjdZ1A These…

Cosplayers tend to gravitate toward elaborate costumes, often involving makeup, prosthetics, armor, and props to recreate their favorite characters. It’s a labor of nerd love, usually with amazing results. But sometimes, less is more. Take a look at cosplayer Oliver Hollingdale’s incredible John Wick costume. From the suit to the long black hair to the gun, it’s pitch-perfect. He even managed to get Keanu Reeves’ strangely shaped facial hair just right! Check it out below: John Wick 2 hits theaters February 10th, 2017 and John Wick 3 is already in development. What do you think of this costume? Have you…

Since the post-credits scene in Deadpool revealed that the incredibly powerful, time-traveling mutant Cable would be along for the ride in the sequel, we’ve spent the last eight months endlessly speculating who should play him, and how big of a role he might play in the film. Cable is, hands-down, my favorite comic book character. I have a picture in my mind of how he looks, sounds, moves, and thinks. But not everyone is so familiar with him, so it might be hard to imagine a 6’8, 350 pound human wall with a bionic arm and a laser eye. From…

The Walking Dead has a habit of ripping fans’ hearts out, pissing on them, and leaving them for the walkers. But, while the treatment we received last Sunday might have been customary, that makes it no less painful. The deaths of Abraham Ford and Glenn Rhee were absolutely barbaric. I don’t know about you, but I needed a hug and a good cry after the season 7 premiere. But maybe you’re not the hugging type. How about a laugh instead? Facebook page TWDFamily, a Walking Dead fan page, has shared a hilarious backstage video. Steven Yeun (Glenn) and Michael Cudlitz…

YouTube user Stryder HD has made an interesting trailer, titled “Batman: The Great Wall,” in which Bruce Wayne finds adventure on the other side of the world, in China. A peaceful land has been invaded by terrible monsters, as well as a human monster: Bane. Batman must not only protect the citizens, but teach them to protect themselves as well. Reminiscent of films like 47 Ronin, it incorporates history, fantasy, martial arts action, and a pinch of grounded realism together into one film, using footage from Nolan’s trilogy, as well as Lord of the Rings and The Last Samurai. There be Game of Thrones spoilers here! Production recently began on Game of Thrones’ seventh season. Filming is currently taking place in Spain, and photos have emerged showing the much-anticipated meeting between Kit Harrington’s Jon Snow and Emilia Clarke’s Daenerys Targaryen. Also, video (that you can see below) was posted yesterday on YouTube from the Basque set, showing a confrontation between Snow and Theon Greyjoy. Snow is waiting on the Dragonstone beach, where several characters, including Greyjoy, sail up to meet him. There’s no audio of their lines, but we do see snow grab Greyjoy by the throat, so it’s…
