Just someone with a love for all things media, having grown up with classic British TV and bonkers American film. Currently studying English and Creative Writing at university, with a need to articulate exactly what I think about everything. I ramble at a much more concise level on Twitter.

If two opposing studios both want something that the other can provide, then it’s not surprisingly for a deal to be made between then. Even if said deal is being made between Marvel Studios and 20th Century Fox. When you look back at Marvel’s history of handling the movie rights of its most famous characters, you can’t help but feel that they just made things difficult for themselves in the long run. Unlike DC, who gave all of their characters over to Warner Bros, Marvel chose to give away their characters to plethora of different studios, with examples such as…

‘Howard the Duck’; decidedly one of the worst films of all time, never mind one of the worst comic book films of all time, and ‘Thor’; the MCU’s fun, if flawed, debut for the god of thunder. Two films that most people would never even think to say in the same sentence, never mind directly compare and point out similarities between the two. However that didn’t stop YouTube’s Couch Tomato from giving it a go, with his latest video: 24 Reasons Howard The Duck & Thor Are The Same Movie. It stars Gal Gadot…

Entertainment Weekly have released the brand new exclusive first look at King Kong in next year’s Kong: Skull Island! And here it is! No I’m being serious, this is genuinely the big reveal that all the news outlets have been going on about. Talk about being underwhelming. The most apparent issue with this image is the lack of scale or focus. There’s nothing definitive about is aside from the fact that’s it’s an ape, and newsflash for whoever thought that this was the best image to release. Every iteration of King Kong has been an ape. But the issues don’t…

Who’d have thought that we’d live in a world where Deadpool is 20th Century Fox’s biggest superhero name over the X-Men and Wolverine? That’s like living in a world where Batman v. Superman doesn’t break a billion dollars…oh. Meta-jokes aside; naturally Fox are keen to capitalize on the success of the first film, now standing as the highest grossing R-rated film of all time, with a sequel aiming for a January 12, 2018 release date. However, the sequel has hit a few notable obstacles, chief of which is the loss of director Tim Miller, resulting in production of the film…

Fan-made movie trailers are just the best, aren’t they? The really good ones are anyway. There’s just something infinitely cool about seeing all sorts of potential cinematic scenarios play out in a manner that gets you excited for something that will never come out. In the same way the trailer for Logan gets you pumped up for Hugh Jackman’s last, decidedly R-rated, hurrah as the character, this fan-made trailer by YouTuber Alex Luthor about the Man of Steel and the Incredible Hulk going head to head, can excite you about a mere idea, presenting a tantalizing vision of what could…
