Growing up a film and television fan in the wonderful state of Massachusetts, he grew a strong attachment to personal dramas. Teaming up his fandom for the world of entertainment along with his love of writing was just an all too natural fit for Matt. He can be often found at the local cineplex, eating at the local restaurants or playing basketball at any basketball court across Mass.

Nearly three months ago, the Coronavirus outbreak became recognized by the United States, putting many businesses and lives on hold while social distancing protocols were put in place. The film industry was a business severally impacted by the outbreak, with several movies being delayed significantly and putting their ongoing production cycle on halt, as well as movie theaters being closed down across the country (AMC is likely to go out of business due to their extended closure). While Hollywood is trying to plan ways to resume film productions, it looks like a lot of restrictions will be in place to…

While many look at Netflix’s Marvel series as the strongest example of TV superhero content, CW has worked tirelessly to create their own cinematic universe on the small screen. Shows like Arrow, Flash, Supergirl, and their latest Stargirl have developed a dedicated cult audience, maximizing their small budgets while building to the DC Legends of Tomorrow crossover event. Most of their programs have endured without a hitch, which made the departure of Batwoman star Ruby Rose all the more surprising, with the actress leaving the starring role of Kate Kane after only one season. Series showrunner Caroline Dries has opened up about plans for a Season Two, which…

While animated family content is more current than ever, a show like Looney Toons was considered novel when it originally aired on TV in 1930. Featuring the likes of Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Tweety, and Porky Pig, the show displayed a cartoonishly violent program that entertained audiences with slapstick gags. Since its debut, the Looney Toons squad has been revived in several different forms, whether its playing basketball with Michael Jordan in Space Jam or in an updated version of the original show. The latest to join this lineage is HBO Max’s new version of Looney Toons, which features many of the same faces aside from a few…

Ben Affleck’s tenure as Batman was a roller coaster ride, being both relatively short and full of surprises. While most critics were not a fan of his debut entry Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, most audiences praised Affleck for his unique take on the role, embracing a jaded, older version of Batman that felt fresh on the big screen. After a surprise cameo in Suicide Squad, Ben Affleck was tasked with leading the Justice League into action. While the actor has his moments embracing Bruce’s low-key charm and leadership, the movie as a whole was a disaster, leading to the cancellation of Affleck’s…

Josh Trank’s Fantastic Four was a notable flop for Fox, with the Chronicle director’s attempt to modernize the first superhero family being muddled by studio interference and several reshoots. One of the few noteworthy strengths of the film was its cast, with Trank selecting some of the best young actors in the business in Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Jamie Bell, and Michael B. Jordan. Despite their talents, many comic fans at the time were critical of Jordan’s casting, lamenting that the African-American actor did not fit the role of Johnny Storm. In an interview with Geeks of Color, Josh Trank revealed his desire…

After the disastrous failure of The Mummy, many thought Universal’s plans to create their own Monster Cinematic Universe would never come to fruition. Now operating with the guidance of horror mastermind Jason Blum, the studio wisely righted the ship with Leigh Whannell’s The Invisible Man. Instead of creating a mindless blockbuster, Universal wisely used the iconic character in a modern horror movie lense, creating an effective crowdpleaser that dealt with timely issues. It looks like Universal will be trying to do the same with the Wolfman, tapping a notable star actor to play the titular role. In an exclusive scoop from Variety, Ryan…

Many DC fans have been clamoring for years to see the Snyder Cut of Justice League, with the enigmatic writer/director not getting an opportunity to complete his vision for the project (Joss Whedon finished filming after a tragedy occurred in Snyder’s family). While this idea has always been promising on paper, many have speculated the logistics of how it would be achieved, with many of Snyder’s intriguing ideas never being filmed during the initial production process. When news circulated that HBO Max would complete the Snyder Cut, budget figures for the project ranged between 20 and 30 million dollars, but that figure…

Some movies fail to garner significant attention in their initial theatrical run but are able to develop a faithful cult audience. Leigh Whannell’s Upgrade is a great example of this, as despite its slight box office take (nearly 12 million domestically), the film’s unique sci-fi/horror bend drew a lot of praise from genre fans alike (it was one of our favorite films of 2018). Many wondered if Whannell’s ambitious project would ever get a sequel on the big screen, but it now appears that the writer/director will take his talents to the small screen. In a report from Deadline, Leigh Whannell will…

John Wick has reached massive heights since its modest debut, with the original film earning a fraction (43 million domestically) of what John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum grossed last summer (171 million domestically). The action series has become a mainstay in the genre, with Keanu Reeves likable presence and a plethora of audacious stunts continuing to impress genre fans. According to series writer Derek Kolstad, it appears that the series could have been significantly different if the directors didn’t fight for one major change. In a recent interview, Kolstad admitted that directors David Leitch and Chad Stahelski had to fight to kill…
