Growing up a film and television fan in the wonderful state of Massachusetts, he grew a strong attachment to personal dramas. Teaming up his fandom for the world of entertainment along with his love of writing was just an all too natural fit for Matt. He can be often found at the local cineplex, eating at the local restaurants or playing basketball at any basketball court across Mass.

It’s no secret that Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker left a sour taste in many diehard fans mouths, with its anti-climactic and rushed finale not offering the catharsis one would expect from a nine-film series. The nostalgic treatment that director JJ Abrahms delivered in Star Wars: Force Awakens came off as insincere with Skywalker, as the bloated screenplay failed to deliver a focused conclusion for any of its characters. While most have been able to make their critiques without much interference, a Star Wars blogger has reportedly been fired for his critiques on the film. Blogger Alex Kane revealed in now-deleted Tweets that he was…

No matter what happens in the world, there will always be a cheap ripoff film to cash in on the current zeitgeist. A little less than a month after the Coronavirus hit the United States, a small distributor released Corona Zombies, an Asylum-esque genre film that looked equally trashy and uninspired (critics were not kind towards the low-budget project). Now, independent distributor, SoCal Cinema is unleashing Angry Asian Murder Hornets onto audiences. From Director Dark Infinity, Angry Asian Murder Hornets is inspired by the recent invasion of dangerous “murder hornets” that have been discovered in the US. Check out the trailer for the…

The DC Extended Universe has had quite a few critical duds in its tenure, none standing out more than Suicide Squad. After drawing significant hype for its inventive take on the superhero genre (focuses on a group of Gotham’s greatest villains becoming anti-heroes), many expected the David Ayer film to be a smashing success for DC. While the film would go on to be a substantial box office hit (earned nearly 800 million worldwide), critics and audiences both lamented the film’s lack of cohesion, with its manic editing failing to develop any notable development for its story and characters. Due to…

A perfect byproduct of the 1980s, the Labyrinth is a film that would go on to be a cult classic after its modest initial release. Combining David Bowie’s musical swagger with Jim Henson’s iconic puppeteer work and George Lucas’ producing touch, the film would have a unique sensibility that drew a respectable audience for itself since its release. While there have been rumors of a potential reboot in the past, it appears that a new sequel has been greenlit, with Sinister and Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson coming on board. According to Deadline, Scott Derrickson will direct the sequel with Maggie Levin (writer/director of Into the…

Ben Affleck’s tenure as Batman was unceremoniously short-lived despite the potential of the actor’s portrayal. In Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Affleck offered a fresh take on Bruce Wayne/Batman, capturing the character at his most jaded state has he’s embraced new violent tactics. Under the surface of that presence, Affleck also was able to capture the character’s deeply-seeded pain regarding the passing of his parents, capturing Batman’s emotional complexity effortlessly. In Justice League, Affleck had some fun playing the leader of the rag-tag team, but the film’s dysfunctional release led to the canceling of his solo Batman debut. In a shocking surprise however,…

After years of demands from the DC fanbase, Warner Brothers has finally decided to let the Zack Snyder cut of Justice League see the light of day, with the studio giving the director an additional 20-3o million dollars to complete his vision for HBO Max. The decision to let Snyder create his own director’s cut has led many to ask whether David Ayer’s would be able to do the same for 2016’s Suicide Squad, which similar to Justice League, was plagued by post-production problems before its release. While the film went on to be a notable box office hit for Warner Brothers, critics and audiences…

Henry Cavill’s tenure as Superman has been wildly unorthodox. After making a promising debut in the lukewarmly received Man of Steel, Henry Cavill has mostly been relegated to co-starring efforts, including performances in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League. Throughout his three-film arc, writer/director Zack Snyder presented a general indecisiveness in how to portray the character, opting for a dark, more grounded tone before changing the character back to his earnest origins in Justice League. All of these factors led many to believe that Cavill’s days as Superman were over for DC, but it appears after a long wait, Cavill could…
