Next year will see Hugh Jackman take on the role of Wolverine for the last time in the currently filming third Wolverine film. There’s currently not much known about the plot of the film, but some recent set photos offer up an intriguing look at two of the film’s key characters.
The photos, courtesy of JustJared, give us our first look at Patrick Stewart’s Charles Xavier aswell another look at a much more grizzled Logan. According to the site the scenes being filmed involved the duo ‘rushing out of a casino and into a truck’. What’s interesting is that the pair are looking considerably worse for wear, indicating that something bad may have gone down. Also present on set was a currently unknown actress who just happens to be playing a currently unknown character. Fancy that, eh?
What’s also currently unknown is where this film will fit in the established timeline of the franchise. Is it post Days of Future Past? Or is it in the original timeline set after The Wolverine? Either way it certainly doesn’t look to be the Old Man Logan story, unless it’s taking some serious liberties. I personally feel it’s giving off more of a Death of Wolverine feel, especially with the character sporting a nifty Beard which he also had in that arc. We’ll hopefully find out more information in the coming months. The currently untitled film will hit theaters March 2nd 2017.
