Even though the past weekend couldn’t have gone any worse for 20th Century Fox’s Fantastic Four reboot, the studio still plans to move forward with a sequel – currently scheduled for June 9, 2017.
“Everything I’ve heard would indicate that the studio will move forward with a Fantastic Four sequel,” HitFix reports. “It may not make that original 2017 date, but they’re definitely planning to make it.”
It’s a bit surprising, considering the studio is expected to lose $60 million dollars on the film but Fox probably doesn’t want to let the rights revert back to Marvel for free. If anything, they could sell the rights back to Marvel or make some type of deal with them like Sony did with Spider-Man.
