The famous actress, who is currently the front-runner for the Best Actress Academy Award this year for her performance in the lesbian drama Carol, is rumored to be in talks for a role in Thor: Ragnarok.
At age 46, and with Hollywood sexism being very ageist against women over 40, it’s doubtful that she’s going to be playing a role like, say, Captain Marvel, or any other prominent superhero that would last multiple movies. But she could play a villain like The Enchantress, or even a completely unexpected role.
Thor: Ragnarok’s plot is currently a complete mystery, though we do know that Hulk will be featured heavily, so there’s no telling what kind of movie it will be. It’s still nearly two years away, though, so it’s early enough that anything could happen.
