One of the questions left unanswered by last year’s mega hit Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens was the fate of Gwendoline Christie’s character, Captain Phasma, last seen being shepherded into a trash compactor.
The Game of Thrones actress was on the red carpet at SAG awards last night where she was asked by People whether she would be appearing in Episode VIII. Christie told the publication:
“I will be in the next Star Wars movie. I think that’s an exclusive, actually.”
Despite being heavily featured in advertising and merchandise for the film, the character actually featured very little in the plot. Hopefully that will be rectified in the Rian Johnson directed sequel when it hits our screens in December 2017.
