James Gunn Posts Sketch of New Character For Guardians of the Galaxy 2

    By James HaddenApril 28, 2016

We haven’t seen much of James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 so far, but the director has been releasing teases of the film on his Twitter page as part of his #WhatWeShotWednesday. This weeks installment focuses on the teams newest member, Mantis, set to be played by Pom Klementieff.

The tweet which you can check out below, doesn’t reveal a great deal in regards to the story but it does confirm that Mantis will have her Antennae like her comic-book counterpart. It’s hard to work out who the other characters are in the scene, but whoever it is looks to be in trouble judging by the ‘tremble’ written on the page. Could we be seeing the team meeting Thanos?

In regards to what’s on the slate for today, Gunn has revealed on Twitter that he is shooting a scene with Chris Pratt, Michael Rooker and Snake Plisskin himself, Kurt Russell. Could this mean that Russell is playing another Ravager, or could it be that Yondu is finally fulfilling his promise to deliver Quill to his father. Hard to tell, but we’ll likely find out more during the coming months.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 hits our screens May 5th, 2017.

What do you think? Are you you excited to see Mantis join the team? Who do you think Kurt Russell is playing? Let us know below!
