Warner Bros. Wins Movie Rights To MONSTERPOCALYPSE; Fede Alvarez To Direct

Monsterpocalypse is a cult board game by Privateer Press that’s been in development limbo for a number of years, however it seems to have finally found its director in the form of Fede Alvarez. Having directed the Evil Dead remake and making an impact with his short film Panic Attack! Alvarez seems like the perfect fit to adapt this monster smashing blockbuster.

After an intense bidding war between Warner Brothers, DreamWorks and Sony, it seems as if Warner Brothers has been victorious in acquiring the rights. A potentially risky investment considering the monsters vs humans genre has had a few box office disappointments in the form of Pacific Rim and Battleship. Alvarez will also take on screenwriting duties with his writing partner Rodo Sayagues whilst his new film Don’t Breathe will be released in cinemas on August 26th, 2016.

What do you think of Fede Alvarez’s appointment? Does this movie interest you? Or would you rather a Pacific Rim sequel? Sound off down below …
