Production has finally wrapped on what feels like the long-awaited sequel to 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy. This means marketing is soon to begin, prompting Chris Pratt to reveal Starlord’s new costume.

The two photos also featured stunt double, Tony McFarr:

    Here’s a better view.

Here’s me and my stunt-man Tony McFarr (also Tommy Harper stunt coordinator and our first AD Lars Winther) on set. Been working with Tony since Jurassic World. Love you buddy! Happy wrap!

The costume looks similar to the first one overall, but many little details have changed, including an armor piece attached to Pratt’s chest – a change not so faithful to the original comics, but it’s not like the movies were following too closely to those anyway.

Per the Marvel Cinematic Universe wiki:

Peter Jason Quill is a half-human, half-Celestial who was abducted from Earth by the Yondu Ravager Clan in 1988. After his abduction, he began building fame as the legendary outlaw Star-Lord. In 2014, he decided to leave the Ravagers and operate individually, starting by stealing a precious artifact known as the Orb, unintentionally becoming a key player in the Quest for the Orb. Following his arrest, he forged an uneasy alliance with fellow inmates Gamora, Drax the Destroyer, Rocket Raccoon, and Groot, and formed the Guardians of the Galaxy team with them a short while later in order to stop Ronan the Accuser from destroying Xandar. After the Battle of Xandar, he left with the other Guardians to do “a little bit of bad and a little bit of good”.

Director James Gunn meanwhile posted a wrap video for the movie showing off Chris Pratt before saying that Guardians 2 will be “the greatest spectacle movie of all time…”

Gunn also managed to tweet out that the Guardians toylines will represent the women in the film as much as the film’s male characters, a concern brought up regarding Black Widow and her role with Age of Ultron.
