    By James HaddenJune 20, 2016

The recent finale for Season 2 of CW’s The Flash ended with a hint as to what’s to come for the scarlet speedster which many fans immediately recognized from an important story arc. Well now it looks as though this may be case based on information from the main man himself and be warned, it does include spoilers for Season Two.

    SPOILERS AHEAD.

Taking to to his official Twitter page, Star Grant Gustin, expressed his excitement at reading the script for the third season premiere. He then went on to tease the episodes title to his many fans, before changing his mind. Luckily show runner, Greg Berlanti was on hand to give Gustin his blessing, which led to the actor tweeting the one word we’ve been waiting to hear…..FLASHPOINT. You can check out the Twitter interaction below:

I'm cool with you telling them the title 🙂

In the comics, Flashpoint was the name of the crossover arc which began when Barry Allen attempted to change the past by saving his mother Nora, from being killed at the hands of The Reverse-Flash. This created a vastly alternate timeline as well as kick starting DC’s New 52 Reboot. The end of the shows second season finale also saw the character making the journey to do the past to do just that.

How this will affect the Arrowverse remains to be seen, but we will likely find out when the show returns to the CW October 4th.

What do you think? Are you excited to see this development? How do you think it will work with fewer characters? Let us know below!
