One of the biggest problems fans fear for Andy Muschietti’s It adaptation, the second to be made since the 1990 TV miniseries, is how they will manage to make Bill Skarsgård’s portrayal live up to Tim Curry’s as Pennywise the Clown. Curry, as you all know, is perhaps the most iconic killer clown in cinematic history.
With that said, many wonder how Skarsgård’s Pennywise will look in appearance – and its possible we’ve already seen it.
Muschietti’s Instagram has occasionally posted images regarding the new film, most recently a director’s chair with the film’s logo and a bundle of red balloons. But go back at least 21 weeks ago and there was an image posted of a composition book with the image of a sadistic clown scrawled across it:
It’s still not known whether or not the image is actual concept art or a little tease for fans, but given that the Internet seems to have neglected it for so long, it’s worth the post.
IT hits theaters September 18, 2017.
