Suicide Squad Nearly Included King Shark

    By Jacob DresslerJuly 30, 2016

Director David Ayer revealed during a Twitter video Q&A that there was a villain which didn’t make it into Suicide Squad. This villain would have been the classic King Shark.

The character’s first appearance was in Superboy in the 1990’s where he was portrayed as a humanoid shark.

Unfortunately, the reason for his absence was that it would have taken up “a lot of work – a lot of CG work,” according to Ayer. He explained he didn’t want to try creating a totally digital character. And with that in mind, they decided to replace King Shark with Killer Croc, “who turned out to be the right guy for the job.”

Although that makes sense for a movie as practical as Suicide Squad, it would’ve definitely been fun to see a walking, talking shark hanging out with the Squad.

You can see his replacement Killer Croc and the rest of the Suicide Squad when the movie hits theaters August 5, 2016.
