Marvel or DC: Who’s Winning In Comic Book Sales?

In August Marvel had 93 comics on sale compared to DC’s 75. And yet? DC Comics devastated Marvel Comics across the marketshare board, even placing 9 titles in the top 10.

Harley Quinn #1 happened to be in the first spot, with only Amazing Spider-Man #16 able to get Marvel into the top ten. All of Marvel’s other books were beat about by four comics starring Harley Quinn and one starring Supergirl.

It looks like this may be the case until October, where Marvel may have the upper hand with their release of Champions of #1. And, just to give you an idea of how well DC Comics rose to the top, in April they had a dollar share of 25.82% and a sales share of 25.13%. In August they had 39.72% and 44.59%. A very impressive change indeed.

However, Marvel is still doing better than they were during 2015 at this time – and the overall sales in 2016 are ahead of 2015 by 2.71% in dollars.

But still as you can see in the graphs above, DC is still well ahead of Marvel and any other company.

What do you think of all this? Does DC deserve to be in the top, or does someone else deserve the spotlight? Let us know down below!
