Jason Voorhees and Michael Myers Will Go Head To Head In 2017

    By Jacob DresslerOctober 26, 2016

It seems that October 2017 will mark quite the showdown for horror fans. It’ll be the premiere month for not just the 13th Friday the 13th film, but an all-new Halloween produced by John Carpenter. That’s right – the man who created Halloween nearly 40 years ago.

The next Friday the 13th will be written by Aaron Guzikowski, best known for writing the movie Prisoners. Although it’ll be directed by Breck Eisner, who helmed the well-received remake of The Crazies.

It’s quite the setup, but will it be better than a new Halloween movie from John Carpenter? Well, the upcoming Halloween does have quite a few things going for it.

For starters, it’ll be ignoring the awful Rob Zombie remakes. And with John Carpenter producing, there’s also a chance he’ll be composing the score. Now that’s something to get excited for, as his score for the original Halloween is something that’s still beloved and feared almost four decades later.

By the time these films get released in 2017, it’ll have been the first entries in either franchise since 2009. That’s almost ten years, and with such a long time waiting, it’ll be great to see these icons on the big screen again.

I don’t know which film will be better or more successful, but it’ll be a blast for the fans to see Jason Voorhees and Michael Myers come back for another good scare.
