First Poster and New Release Date For ALIEN: COVENANT Revealed

Alien: Covenant is set for theaters sooner than we think - and it seems nothing will stop it now as the first poster has been released.

Originally slated for next October, and then August, Alien: Covenant is set for theaters sooner than we think – and it seems nothing will stop it now as the first poster has been released.

The poster, while simple, packs a heavy punch. Front and center is the classic Xenomorph in all its terrifying glory, a clear signal that the franchise is returning to its horror roots. Accompanying the image is a chillingly minimal tagline: “Run.”

It’s not quite the legendary Alien line “In space no one can hear you scream,” but it certainly echoes the same sentiment — you’re in danger, and there’s nowhere to hide.

What’s most striking about this teaser is how unapologetically it leans into the horror aspect. After the more philosophical and sci-fi driven Prometheus, this visual alone suggests Covenant might mark a return to the sheer terror that made the original Alien so iconic.

As mentioned above, the movie was scheduled for October, and then moved to August – but the film has now been pulled even closer on the calendar — much to fans’ surprise and excitement. With a poster like this to kick things off, anticipation for the next chapter in Ridley Scott’s sci-fi horror saga is officially in motion.

You can read the synopsis for the film below:

“Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the ‘synthetic’ David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.”

Katherine Waterston, Danny McBride, Demián Bichir, Billy Crudup, Noomi Rapace, and Guy Pearce will also be featured in the film’s cast.

Alien: Covenant hits theaters sometime in May, as revealed on the new poster.
