DEADPOOL 2: Michael Shannon as CABLE Concept Art

    By Tony SmejekMarch 23, 2017

Deadpool 2 Cable casting buzz has been going around like wildflowers these past few days. All of which included the recently rumored Brad Pitt in the running and now the recently reported Man of Steels/Batman v. Superman’s Michael Shannon.

Boss Logic, Inc. had put together an amazing concept art piece for ComicBook.com entailing Shannon as the futuristic X-Man, Cable. If scheduling doesn’t get in the way, fans may see that this look could work for the former General Zod actor.

From the look of the art work, he seems to be represented as more of a machine than a man. Considering the comic book version has Cable wearing a blue under suit only, but it looks like yellow armor adorns his body on top of said suit. With an added touch of corporate sponsors like 7-11 and Dominoes Pizza, likely for the purpose of humor.

The latter of which may be a representative of an Easter egg for the Domino character, not unlike the scene in the trailer for Deadpool 2 preceding the Logan movie. The part where Wade Wilson enters the phone booth, with the “Nathan Summers Coming Soon!” words written on the outside.

You have to admit, Michael Shannon can play “menacing” and he pulled it off nicely in the DC Comics movie. The picture also seems to portray an intimidation factor as well considering the character has a pretty serious persona.

What do you think of Michael Shannon as Cable in Deadpool 2? Could you see him matching the demeanor of the Marvel Comics version? Hopefully, we’ll have an answer soon enough when the final decision for casting is made.
