Jeepers Creepers 3 Premiere Cancelled Amid Protests Over Film’s Director

Those of you who have been waiting since 2003 for Jeeper Creepers 3 will have a wait a little longer.

HorrorFreakNews reports that the September 13th premiere for this thing at the TCL Chinese Theater in Los Angeles has been cancelled.

This is due to the theater management fearing protests over director Victor Salva’s truly abhorrent crimes. TCL Chinese Theater Management sent this message to customers who had already purchased their tickets for the event:

“Dear Valued Customer, We would like to inform you that due to events beyond our control, the screening event hosted by @Moviedude18 for ‘Jeepers Creepers and Jeepers Creepers 3’ on Wednesday September 13, 2017 will no longer take place at the TCL Chinese 6 Theatres. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause your party. We have worked with Fandango to refund your purchase directly. You should see the refund in your account within the next few days. We would like to offer you free passes. You may redeem them at the box office upon your next visit by showing this email or we can mail them to you if you provide us with your mailing address. Again, we apologize for the inconvenience.”

If you didn’t know, Victor Salva was convicted in 1988 for sexually abusing a 12 year old boy who worked with him on his film Clownhouse. Salva was sentenced to three years in prison for this crime (the disturbing details of which you can find here) and only served 18 months of this sentence.

Many people on the internet have called for a boycott of Jeepers Creepers 3 due to Salva’s involvement and the TCL Chinese Theater’s fear of protests makes quite a bit of sense.

Me personally, I’ll be boycotting it just because it’s another crappy Jeepers Creepers movie.

So, what do you think? Will you be seeing Jeepers Creepers 3 despite the director’s crimes? Sound off below!
