With last month’s news of a revival series based off the Mainframe Entertainment property, fans are pretty disappointed with the first look of Reboot: The Guardian Code. If there is a plus side to this, the fact that talking about the beloved 90s CGI series is becoming more relevant now. And what better way to take advantage of this promotion than to bring back the nostalgia that we’ve been wanting for a while?
Shout! Factory TV has partnered with Twitch to bring back the first fully computer-generated serial from 1994 in a full day marathon. In addition to the full series, special behind-the-scenes features a making of spotlight with Gavin Blair have also been confirmed to be part of the line-up as a bonus.
Shout! Factory has released the following statement:
LOS ANGELES & SAN FRANCISCO – March 22, 2018 – Warning: Incoming Game.Shout! Factory TV will partner with social video platform Twitch to host a 24-hour marathon of the complete original series ReBoot on March 28. Ahead of the show’s upcoming reboot, fans can join the ReBoot revolution and watch all 47 episodes from the original four-season run, alongside special features Fast Forward: The Making of ReBoot and Alpha Numeric: Looking Back at ReBoot with Co-Creator Gavin Blair. The marathon begins Wednesday, March 28 at 3 p.m. PT on Shout! Factory’s official Twitch channel.
The entire series is also available on VOD on their official website too.
Obviously this is made to promote a very underwhelming sequel product, but anything to bring the fans of Reboot together and watch it live like the old days is sure to be a treat.
The Reboot Marathon premieres on Shout! Factory’s official Twitch channel on Wednesday, March 28th at 3pm PST. Reboot: The Guardian Code comes out March 30th.
