    Hellboy Reboot Trailer 2019

The first Hellboy trailer was supposed to be released tomorrow, but somehow, it has leaked online. We’re not sure how long it’s going to be up, exactly, but it’s here at the time of writing this article. We get our first good look at David Harbour as the title character, and you can definitely tell that this version is going to be a lot different than the previous franchise from Guillermo del Toro.

Check it out below – and UPDATE – the official trailer has been released:

We were also given some new posters:

Awwwww, crap… Look who’s coming in April. No, not the 50% still left of the Avengers – hell, that’s practically May… April 12th showers bring one Big Red Flower, beast of the apocalypse, The right hand of doom, the buttkicker of the BPRD, and a host of all kinds of big ole giants and witches and fairies and janky overgrown ugly pig monsters from your nightmares. Trailer drops Thursday #aboutdamntime #hellboy 😈

It’ll be interesting to see how fans react to Ron Perlman not playing the character. The actor was pretty heartbroken over losing the role, but has said he’s come to terms with it. More recently, though, he said it’s still like an “open wound”:

“I felt like we owed the fans closure, and there were too many people moving in too many other directions and I just couldn’t pull it off,” he admitted, “so if you ask me about it, it’s kind of still an open wound.”

The only current synopsis for the reboot reads:

Based on the graphic novels by Mike Mignola, Hellboy, caught between the worlds of the supernatural and human, battles an ancient sorceress bent on revenge.

Hellboy is set to hit theaters on April 12, 2019.
