It’s an exciting time for fans of the MCU. Things are finally getting back on track with both the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Sony sides of things. With the recent release of Venom: Let There Be Carnage, it’s time to start getting excited for Sony’s next Marvel film – Morbius. The movie was unfortunately delayed late last year, but marketing is kicking back into high gear with the impending release date. Now a new trailer for Morbius has been released, which features a decent bit of new footage compared to the last trailer released. And the new Morbius trailer also offers a great new look at Jared Leto in his monstrous vampire form.
Indeed, it definitely looks like Jared Leto is an exciting pick to play Morbius in this film adaptation of the iconic “Living Vampire.” The newly released trailer is evidence of that. With Tom Hardy being such a perfect Venom, and Woody Harrelson such a perfect Carnage, it seems like they made the right choice with Jared Leto as Morbius, the Living Vampire in this trailer as well.
As you can see for yourself:
With the film only a few months away, one can hope that we’ll continue getting glimpses into the horrifying world of Morbius. The new film is intended to take place in the same world as Venom and Venom: Let There Be Carnage, and seeing howLet There Be Carnage ended – it’ll be exciting to see what this could mean for the story of Morbius as well.
In the new film…
“Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder, and determined to save others suffering his same fate, Dr. Morbius attempts a desperate gamble. What at first appears to be a radical success, a darkness inside him is unleashed and transforms this healer into a hunter.”
Daniel Espinosa directed Morbius from a screenplay written by Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama.
Aside from the aforementioned Jared Leto, the confirmed cast for the film also includes Matt Smith, Adria Arjona, Jared Harris, Al Madrigal, and Tyrese Gibson.
The highly anticipated film Morbius is currently scheduled for a January 28, 2022 release date early next year.
