Fans have been eagerly waiting years for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3, the highly-anticipated sequel to the previous two Guardians films. While it took awhile for production to finally begin, the film is now way into shooting, with several looks at the project having been revealed by cast and crew. Now actress Karen Gillan has unveiled a new look at Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3, via a set photo of her character Nebula.
As you can see below, Karen Gillan posted a photo on her Instagram story with most of her face hidden. Nevertheless, her classic Nebula makeup is still visible, albeit there are some noticeable alterations as well. In particular, it looks like her character has suffered some kind of injuries or perhaps even burns that have been applied to the makeup. It certainly looks like Nebula will be getting into some heavy trouble this time around.
She also wrote the following caption along with the photo:
“I’m on around makeup 170th application, but I appreciate the cake anyway.”
It’s been well-known that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 will be the darkest film of the trilogy yet, and even the final film to sport the original team. As such, some tragic deaths or sequences are expected to occur, and if this new Nebula makeup is any indication, then she could very well be facing some of the danger in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3. Of course, fans will likely have to wait until the final film to know for sure.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 is being both written and directed by James Gunn, who handled the previous two films in the trilogy. There aren’t many details given about the film’s plot at the moment.
The cast for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 will also include Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, and the voice talents of Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel. Will Poulter is joining the cast as Adam Warlock.
The upcoming MCU film Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 is scheduled for a May 5, 2023 release date.
