A variety of different Spider-Man continuities came together in Spider-Man: No Way Home, the latest solo-film starring the MCU’s Peter Parker aka Tom Holland. While the film united several different incarnations of Spider-Man and their various villains, the film has a number of MCU references as well. In fact, many fans seem to have missed one particular MCU cameo that’s featured in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
This cameo was noted by Reddit user KostisPat257, who pointed out that a character from Spider-Man: Homecoming actually shows up in the film. Specifically, it turns out that Damage Control Agent Foster, played by Gary Weeks, appears in Spider-Man: No Way Home for a cameo when Peter Parker is arrested.
This is quite notable, as the character was first introduced during another similar scene in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Gary Weeks’ Damage Control Agent Foster had appeared during the Spider-Man: Homecoming flashback that reveals how Adrien Toomes, played by Michael Keaton, lost his job before becoming Vulture. As such, this MCU cameo makes for quite the parallel between Homecoming and No Way Home.
It’s also worth noting that Damage Control Agent Foster appeared elsewhere in the film as well. During the sequence where Ned is being interrogated, Damage Control Agent Foster appears beside Agent Cleary. So it’s clear that the character has been intertwined with many of the major events shown throughout the MCU’s Spider-Man film franchise. For a film that’s already loaded with cameos, references, and too many Easter eggs to count, it looks like fans can add another one to the list. It goes to show just how much attention to detail Marvel likes to utilize. And that’s all the more reason why the Marvel Cinematic Universe has become such a beloved canon.
Spider-Man: No Way Home is now available digitally. The physical release which includes 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD copies of the film, will be released on April 12, 2022.
