The Netflix series Stranger Things has returned after several years. Many fans have been waiting anxiously throughout this time, especially because of the answers that were expected to arrive alongside the new season. One of these answers included how exactly Hopper survived the events of Stranger Things 3 – especially given the teaser trailer that revealed his presence in Russia. Indeed, Stranger Things Season 4 does reveal albeit without as much craziness as some fans have speculated.
While some fans thought Hopper survived through supernatural means, this isn’t quite the case. As it turns out, Hopper simply fell down outside of the blast radius. At this point, after climbing himself back up, it’s revealed that he was transported to Russia. As such, the return of Hopper and his sudden appearance in Russia are both explained in one sitting.
While the series didn’t spend much time explaining the physics behind Hopper’s survival, they did explain enough to get to the good stuff. Fans got to spend plenty of time with Hopper during his stay in a Russian prison. While his scenes contained some of the darker moments of the new season, or at least the most hopeless, David Harbour’s character has still proven to be quite persistent. As a result, his stay in Russia has been especially captivating and there’s no doubt plenty of fans waiting to see the character continue making his way back to the United States.
Other than David Harbour, the cast for the new season includes returning stars Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, and Noah Schnapp. We will also be seeing the return of Sadie Sink, Joe Keery, Natalia Dyer, Maya Hawke, Priah Ferguson, Winona Ryder, and Cara Buono. New additions to the cast include Robert Englund, Jamie Campbell Bower, Eduardo Franco, Joseph Quinn, Sherman Augustus, Mason Dye, Nikola Djuricko, and Tom Wlaschiha.
Fans can currently watch the newest season of Stranger Things on Netflix, with the second volume of episodes scheduled to be released on July 1.
