It’s been quite a few years since the last Guardians of the Galaxy film project hit theaters. Now Marvel is making up for it with not just the third film arriving next year, but the highly-anticipated Guardians of the Galaxy: The Holiday Special as well. Now, as you can see below, the first official trailer for The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special has been released.
The new film will show the titular superhero team arrive on Earth just in time for Christmas. As such, it should be a great way to spend the holiday season and an opportunity to revisit the Guardians following their brief appearance in Thor: Love and Thunder. One must also assume that this will set the stage for the third installment in the main film trilogy arriving next year in 2023.

Indeed, this is quite the gift from James Gunn and everyone involved with the project. Hopefully the wait until November 25 won’t be too long now.
James Gunn returned to both write and direct The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special following his work as writer and director on the rest of the trilogy. The new special stars Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Vin Diesel as Groot, Dave Bautista as Drax, Bradley Cooper as Rocket, Pom Klementieff as Mantis, and Karen Gillan as Nebula.
Fans will be able to see The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special via Disney Plus on November 25, 2022. Meanwhile, the third film installment in the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise will be arriving early next year on May 5, 2023. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates as we have them.
