Walmart Removes Shirt After Shoppers Notice Hidden Curse Word

    By Jacob DresslerApril 15, 2023

Walmart often carries a wide variety of shirts. One such shirt, however, is now being removed by Walmart for accidentally featuring a hidden curse word. Of course, that hasn’t stopped users on social media from sharing it across the internet.

In fact, as of this writing, a tweet featuring the shirt has already acquired more than 2.8 million views. So, although Walmart has made their decision to have the shirt removed from their massive chain of stores, they haven’t been able to stop it from being seen. As noted in the post’s caption:

“I need this shirt before Walmart realizes what they have done,” the Twitter user writes. “Find the hidden word.”

The green shirt actually has a message about recycling. The left side of the shirt begins with an uppercase “RE” with three lowercase suffixes to the right: “cycle,” “use,” “new,” and “think.” Of course, the suffixes create an unintended acronym that, yes, creates a notable curse word.

    Here’s the shirt:

As shared via Newsweek, a spokesperson for Walmart confirms that this was not their intention. As such, the shirt has already been removed.

“This was not intentional, and the T-shirt has been removed.”

It appears that the shirt was only available in Walmart stores in Canada. With a $5.00 price tag, it was part of the Walmart-owned George brand, but now others have been reselling the shirt given its newfound notoriety. It isn’t surprising given how many social media users are completely amused by the hidden word.

Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional news as we may have it. Although it doesn’t happen often, there have been similar instances of shirts being removed by Walmart in the past, and so it’s very possible another accidental curse word could go viral any day now. Perhaps it’s only a matter of time.
