Fans of 72-year-old Ghostbusters actor Bill Murray might be surprised to see he’s allegedly in a relationship with 43-year-old singer Kelis. The reports began after Murray was spotted attending several of her recent shows.
As shared by The Sun, the two were also reportedly sighted staying at the same hotel. This is said to have happened after the two began “getting close for a while” after meeting for the first time. The two recently each lost their own respective partners, with Kelis’s second husband having passed last year and Murray’s estranged wife having passed in 2021.
A friend shared the following info regarding Bill Murray and Kelis:
“They’ve met up in the States before which got people in the industry talking, and now are meeting up in London while they’re both here. They’ve clearly hit it off.
“They were both seen at the same hotel, and he’s been to watch her perform several times before he went to Mighty Hoopla.
“But they’ve also both shared relatively recent bereavements and have that common bond between them.
“Whatever it is that has brought them together, and however unlikely it seems, they are both single and are having fun despite the fairly big age gap.”
As mentioned, Kelis’s second husband, Mike Mora, died last year. He suffered from stomach cancer and passed at age 37. Murray’s estranged wife, Jennifer Butler, initially filed for divorce in 2008 after accusing Murray of domestic abuse and various addictions. But the two are said to have remained in touch until she ultimately passed away in 2021. It seems like these bereavements are one of the elements that have brought the two together in spite of their age gaps.
