Fans have waited a long time but Beetlejuice 2 is finally in production. The sequel has taken decades to get off the ground, but original stars Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder are back, and they’ve got quite the cast to join them. This is evident in the all-new photos for Beetlejuice 2 which feature Winona Ryder and Jenna Ortega.
Winona Ryder once again stars in the film as her iconic character Lydia Deetz. Jenna Ortega, however, will be playing Lydia’s daughter in the film. Plot details are scarce but fans are no doubt hyped to see how their lives get intertwined with Keaton’s titular character.

Obviously having Winona Ryder back in the film is a must. But Jenna Ortega is a very exciting addition to the story. She’s become a major name in recent years, having appeared in the likes of Scream, Scream VI, and the Netflix series Wednesday. As such, Beetlejuice 2 will actually be her second collaboration with Tim Burton, after Burton previously worked on Wednesday as a director and executive producer.
Tim Burton has returned to direct the Beetlejuice sequel which was penned by Mike Vukadinovich. The earlier drafts of the script were penned by Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg. Katzenberg and Grahame-Smith will both produce the sequel. The original film’s composer Danny Elfman will return to score the sequel.
The film once again stars Michael Keaton as the titular character, with Winona Ryder as Lydia Deetz, and Catherine O’Hara returning as Lydia’s mother, Delia Deetz. Newcomers to the cast include Jenna Ortega, Monica Bellucci, Willem Dafoe, and Justin Theroux.
Fans will finally be able to see Beetlejuice 2 in theaters on September 6, 2024. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates as we have them.
