With Marvel Studios working on its next slate of projects, many details are coming to light regarding upcoming MCU movies and shows. Now one report claims that a fan-favorite Marvel character is reportedly returning for their own solo movie.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe is built up of solo movies and team-up events. Some characters were introduced individually, others were revealed in crossover events. For the latter, it’s always exciting when fans get to spend more time with those characters that never had a solo opportunity prior.
Now, according to insider Daniel Richtman, it looks like one such Marvel character is set to get their own solo movie after all. This is quite exciting because the character is currently believed to be deceased. As such, if such a film were to happen it’s unknown what direction it could take. While a prequel like Black Widow is possible – it’s likely that this character isn’t exactly as dead as previously thought.
Specifically, it looks like fans could expect a return from Elizabeth Olsen‘s Wanda Maximoff. Here’s what was shared:
“Marvel Studios reportedly wants Scarlet Witch to have her own movie.”
Additionally, the report claims that “Jac Schaeffer is being eyed to write and direct the movie.”

Hopefully there will be more details regarding this possibility soon. It’s unknown how exactly Wanda Maximoff could appear in her own solo movie, especially considering her death during the events of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Of course, death usually isn’t permanent for comic book characters, especially those like Wanda. Especially with the Multiverse being involved these days – there are plenty of possibilities to tackle.
Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any further news regarding the potential Wanda Maximoff solo movie as we have them. As always, this information should be taken with a grain of salt. But Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda is a fan-favorite for sure – and there’s no doubt Marvel might want to take further advantage of her character. Especially with other superhero teams like the X-Men finally coming into play.
