Many moviegoers recognize the Marvel Cinematic Universe for its impressive display of blockbuster filmmaking. Of course, even major blockbusters have mistakes, and now one such mistake has just been spotted by some eagle-eyed MCU fans.

In fact, the mistake is starting to go viral on social media as a result. This particular goof was spotted in the fan-favorite epic Avengers: Infinity War. And, as you can see below, it actually involves Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man.

Robert Downey Jr. has played Tony Stark, aka the aforementioned Iron Man, since first appearing as the character in 2008’s Iron Man. Avengers: Infinity War marked one of his final appearances as the character, however, and it just so happens that his first solo encounter with Thanos is where this mistake can be seen.

Fans likely remember the scene itself quite well. “You throw another moon at me, and I’m gonna lose it,” Iron Man quips. The sequence includes a shot of Robert Downey Jr.’s face within the Iron Man suit. However, this is where the mistake occurs when compared with such sequences in the rest of the film.

As it turns out, his moustache and goatee are different in this shot than they are in the rest of the film. Here’s an example:

It’s worth noting that this mistake has been pointed out in the past. However, it’s now seeing newfound attention on social media, having gone absolutely viral with fans and moviegoers alike. Of course, such goofs are common even in major blockbusters. It’s definitely part of the charm that comes with keeping a close eye on beloved movies.

Fans can stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional Marvel Cinematic Universe updates and any additional viral social media posts. If Marvel fans weren’t already aware of this particular mistake, then it’s likely they’ll have learned about it by now.
