Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom has finally hit theaters. The long-awaited sequel to Aquaman concludes the DCEU and the titular character’s story. Of course, the film also featured a few other familiar faces, including Amber Heard’s Mera. Now one fan has decided to share her own take on Mera with a gorgeous cosplay.
As you can see below, cosplayer Brianna Torres, known as @missbrisolo on Instagram, put together a cosplay which included Mera’s jumpsuit and signature red hair. Her facial expression also contains a serious look while she poses for the photos.
Of course, fans have been quite eager for a new Mera in the DCEU. There were many attempts by fans to convince Warner Bros to recast Amber Heard as the character. Of course, these attempts were futile. And while it’s likely there will be a new version of the character in James Gunn’s DCU, this cosplayer’s attempt does prove that there is room for others to try on the suit.

Fans were rather supportive of her cosplay. The comments are loaded with compliments and fans that describe as cosplay as incredible, amazing, and excellent. “Those colors pop!,” one fan notes, referring to the vivid green and red colors featured in the image.

Although the DCEU appears to be over, it’s likely that the DCU ran by James Gunn and Peter Safran will at some point reintroduce Aquaman and those associated with the fan-favorite character.
In the meantime, fans are certainly doing a great job with keeping the spirit of the brand alive. Especially if this cosplay is any indication.
