Viewers on social media are freaked out by the latest true crime documentary series to hit Netflix. As you can see below, they’ve emphasized that this particular documentary series is outright “disturbing.” And, as shared below, it’s no surprise to see why.

The documentary was added to the Netflix series on March 5, 2024. It consists of three different episodes all directed by Katherine Kubler. And, as shared via FlixPatrol, it’s broken into the Top 10 category of the platform.

Indeed, these are some pretty impressive numbers for the documentary. Of course, subscribers are often interested in watching such programs. As you can see in the responses shared below via X, however, these viewers are especially disturbed by this particular series.

The Program: Cons, Cults, and Kidnapping is the name of this series and it revolves around director Katherine Kubler and her former classmates from the Academy at Ivy Ridge. This academy happens to be a behavior modification facility which was initially advertised as a boarding school.

The situation becomes much more complicated, however, after it turns out the students suffered incredibly abusive conditions while staying at the location. This has left a long-lasting trauma for those involved, and as shared below, viewers are both disturbed and saddened for what these students had to endure:

Watching this documentary on Netflix called “The Program”….. bitch how do you as a parent, send your child away to a “school” and have no communication with them, don’t know wtf going on… and you trust complete strangers! pic.twitter.com/CDOTEC9vXN

Twisted AF. ‘The Program’ on Netflix is one of the wildest most disturbing docs I have seen pic.twitter.com/5av2S7lfjF

‘The Program’ on Netflix. Parents were duped into sending their ‘misbehaving’ kids for ‘behavioral corrections’ there.

Extremely sad to see that these kids experienced physical and emotional abuse there.

Why are we as a society so obsessed with punishment. pic.twitter.com/Pg08ErOl9j

Halfway through the first episode of The Program on Netflix. People really just sent their kids to be traumatized & tortured by strangers for drinking wine coolers?!?! pic.twitter.com/ABUFChr6L9

Viewers seem to agree that even though the documentary has a disturbing start, it continues to become even more upsetting as the series progresses. By episode 2, one viewer even noted that the “psychological warfare reaches another level.” Viewers similarly agree that they’re surprised the children involved were ever sent to such a place to begin with.

“The Program” on Netflix is crazy from the start but about 7 minutes into episode 2 the level of fucked up psychological warfare reaches another level. No idea how so many parents bought into this shit. pic.twitter.com/CPWTkC5JFS
