The success of X and its prequel, Pearl, set an exciting level of expectations for the third film in Ti West’s X trilogy: MaXXXine. Now, as you can see in the newly-released red band trailer below, MaXXXine looks like it will absolutely live up to its predecessors while introducing an all-new level of bloodshed.
In the footage below, Mia Goth returns as Maxine from X, living a life as an aspiring Hollywood star following the horrific events of the aforementioned slasher film. Now, however, it looks like another serial killer is on the prowl: the infamous Night Stalker.
In addition to Mia Goth as Maxine, the cast for the film also includes Elizabeth Debicki, Moses Sumney, Michelle Monaghan, Bobby Cannavale, Halsey, Lily Collins, Giancarlo Esposito, and Kevin Bacon

Although some of the footage from this red band trailer was featured in previous looks at the film, this does include a few new glimpses and a great example of what we can expect in July.
Ti West both wrote and directed the film which will now take the story to the year 1985. X previously took place in 1979, while its prequel, Pearl, took place in 1918. The films take place in different time periods while exploring the evolution of adult films and independent cinema in the process. Additionally, they’ve taken on stylistic influences from the time periods and settings in which they’ve been set.
The highly-anticipated sequel is set to hit theaters on July 5, 2024.
