The Marvel Cinematic Universe is the most successful film franchise to date. Of course, that doesn’t mean there aren’t critics, and many of those critics include Hollywood’s biggest players. Jamie Lee Curtis shared such criticisms against Marvel’s latest phase, calling it outright “bad,” but now she’s trying to issue an apology to Marvel Studios.

As you can see below, the Halloween star participated in a set of trivia questions from MTV. The platform asked Curtis (and numerous others) the following question:

    “What phase is Marvel in?”

Curtis, without missing a beat, simply answers with the following:

    “Bad.”

Accepting both right & wrong answers on any Marvel trivia questions @JoshuaHorowitz or I ask 🤭

Of course, this type of questioning is geared towards social media in the hopes that any of these answers will go viral. Now Curtis is not only apologizing for her answer, but she’s lamenting the current landscape of the internet and its focus on viral content. This was the response given by Curtis on X:

“My comments about Marvel were stupid and I will do better,” she said. “I’ve reached out to Kevin Feige and will no longer play in that mud slinging sandbox of competition we call the internet nor will I engage in the toilet paper promotion or game play that is designed for clicks not content or conversation.”

While some users have shown respect for Jamie Lee Curtis and her apology to Marvel, others don’t think she should have to issue one. In fact, Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds seems to be having fun with the whole concept:

Wait, is everyone expected to apologize for slamming Marvel post-Endgame? https://t.co/kRxPmILfXl

It’s certainly an interesting example of the kind of social media climate we currently reside in. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional MCU updates as we have them and any further news regarding Jamie Lee Curtis. As for now, it looks like Curtis will be stepping away from making any similar criticisms – at least for the time being.
