The Marvel Cinematic Universe‘s next major crossover event will be Avengers: Doomsday. The film is intended to unite several major superhero teams and set the stage for Avengers: Secret Wars. However, it’s being reported that the script for Avengers: Doomsday – one of the biggest films in MCU history – is incomplete.
Obviously this report should be taken with a grain of salt, but it’s certainly not unheard of for Hollywood. Many major productions have gone in front of cameras before a final screenplay was complete. In this alleged scenario, insider @MyTimeToShineH states that while “there is a script,” it will require consistent revisions on set.
Here’s what they shared regarding the alleged status of the Avengers: Doomsday script:
“To answer everyone’s question: yes, there is a script, but they’re going to keep rewriting it every day on set because it’s not done DONE. Like it’s not as good as they would want it to be.”

The film is already beginning production and more than two dozen cast members have been announced. It’s a monumental project for Marvel Studios, one that will also see the return of Robert Downey Jr. to the MCU. This time, however, he’ll be playing major Marvel supervillain Doctor Doom rather than Iron Man, which makes his return all the more important. Whether the script is fully completed or not, Marvel Studios is no doubt eager to make this movie a success.
It’s worth noting these details do line up with another alleged scoop, which suggested the screenplay hasn’t been finished because the studio was still finalizing deals with the cast members they want to see appear. It’d certainly make sense that they would have difficulties finishing a screenplay before they could make sure everyone they wrote into the film could actually appear.
Yep. This is what @TheInSneider has been reporting for WEEKS on THE HOT MIC and in his newsletter.
The #AvengersDoomsday script ain’t DONE done because they haven’t closed all the deals with all the people who’ll be appearing in it.
An interesting way to make a movie… https://t.co/3JZaNIl27g pic.twitter.com/UrCfsZIgHs
