The Marvel Cinematic Universe has so far given fans a total of three Spider-Man movies, all of which star Tom Holland as the MCU’s titular Spider-Man. The third installment, Spider-Man: No Way Home, took things to a new level by featuring special appearances from Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield as their respective Spider-Men. Now the next film in the series, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, is taking a different direction. Now the first teaser trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day has been released online.
Though there isn’t much to go on with the teaser trailer – there was another that included a line in the description that confirms Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be different from its predecessors. Here’s the line: “Something brand new is coming…” along with a look at Tom Holland in the new Spider-Man suit.
While we’re still waiting for more details regarding the project, we do know about one major change that will surprise MCU fans. In addition to Tom Holland’s return as Peter Parker aka Spider-Man, which will be especially different now that no one remembers him following the events of No Way Home, it will also star Jon Bernthal as The Punisher.
Here’s the first official teaser trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day:
With the addition of Jon Bernthal’s Punisher, and recent comments made by Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige, it seems Brand New Day will redirect its focus on some kind of street-level crime story. This is something Spider-Man fans have been hoping for, especially with the rather massive narratives followed in the previous trilogy, so we’ll have to see how this new project turns out.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled to hit theaters next year on July 31, 2026. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates regarding the highly-anticipated follow-up to the MCU’s Spider-Man trilogy as we have them. Now that this teaser has been released, we’ll have to see what other exciting sneak peeks will come our way in the coming months.
