It’s become often reported that Netflix will have prematurely canceled a series. For one particular fan-favorite series, however, the opposite has become true. This series was only intended to be a limited-event miniseries, but due to its success, Netflix has greenlit the show for a second season.
This exciting announcement for fans of the series was shared in a new report. According to the outlet, the series will be getting a second season with the show’s star set to reprise his role. Considering how the first season wrapped things up, it looks like a new mystery is coming our way.
While details remain under wraps for now – the news has definitely sparked a wave of excitement. It’s hit or miss with the platform and most streaming in general when it comes to renewals, hinting at just how impactful the series has been.

“Untamed will be back for another season. Netflix revealed Tuesday it has renewed the series, starring Eric Bana, for a second season.”
Bana stars in the series as a National Parks Service special agent who attempts to solve a mystery. Now that things were wrapped up in the first season, it looks like he’ll be finding a new mystery in this upcoming season. He shared the following statement:
“I am absolutely thrilled that we get the chance to bring another season of Untamed to life,” Bana said. “The response to Season 1 has been a testament to the incredible effort by our crew to deliver something truly unique. I can’t wait to take Kyle on his next journey.”
Co-writer Mark L. Smith, who wrote the series with Elle Smith, added a statement regarding their decision to extend the series with an additional season:
“Elle and I envisioned it as a stand-alone, six episodes,” Smith shared. “But then the more that we got into it, it was just such a great cast … it was just like, ‘Oh yeah, how do we keep this going?’”
