The Spider-Man film franchise is headed towards its fourth solo installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The new movie, titled Spider-Man: Brand New Day, will once again feature Tom Holland as Peter Parker following the events of Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far From Home, and Spider-Man: No Way Home. Now a new cast is joining Holland for the story ahead and one of these cast members, Sadie Sink, might’ve just had her new Spider-Man role revealed.

With Stranger Things coming to an end this year, it certainly frees up Sink’s schedule to pursue other major projects, and that includes the Marvel Cinematic Universe. There are plenty of characters that she makes a perfect fit for, and with the possibilities of seeing her receive a recurring role in the MCU, fans have been eager to find out who she could be playing in the new film ever since her involvement was announced.

Now, according to insider Kristian Harloff, the secrecy regarding her role may be no more. While fans should take the following report with a grain of salt, it certainly could be confirmed sooner rather than later now that the film is in the midst of production. As for the role Sink might be playing, it would be one of the biggest characters associated with the beloved superhero.

Specifically, Harloff claims that Sink will be playing none other than Gwen Stacy, noting that it’s a “pretty good guarantee” based on what he’s heard. While that’s still not a confirmation, the character has appeared in previous live-action Spider-Man projects, having been played by Bryce Dallas Howard in Sam Raimi’s trilogy and Emma Stone in Marc Webb’s Amazing Spider-Man duology.

Additionally, the animated Spider-Verse films have popularized Gwen’s turn as a superhero with “Spider-Gwen,” something many MCU fans have been open to seeing in future live-action films. While it remains to be seen if Sadie Sink will be playing Gwen Stacy, much less her Spider-Gwen incarnation, Spider-Man fans will definitely be eager to see what’s in store.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled to hit theaters on July 31, 2026. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates regarding the highly-anticipated sequel as we have them.
