In November it was revealed that former Tonight Show host Jay Leno suffered severe burns from a garage fire. Now it’s been reported that Jay Leno has broken several bones in a motorcycle crash just several months later.
This news was shared by Jay Leno himself while speaking with the Las Vegas Review-Journal. It appears that Leno broke his collarbone, two of his ribs, and cracked his kneecaps during the motorcycle crash.
Here’s what he had to share after being asked about his condition from the garage fire:
“It’s so funny you should say that,” he began. “That was the first accident. OK? Then just last week, I got knocked off my motorcycle. So I’ve got a broken collarbone. I’ve got two broken ribs. I’ve got two cracked kneecaps.”
Obviously this news may sound quite alarming. But Jay Leno assured the interview that he’s doing just fine. In fact, he’s even returning to work soon.
“But I’m OK!” Leno said. “I’m OK, I’m working. I’m working this weekend.”
The accident, much like the garage fire, was connected to another one of Leno’s vintage vehicles. This time, however, it happened to be a 1940 Indian motorcycle. Apparently Jay Leno noticed the scent of leaking gas from the motorcycle and decided to stop the vehicle.
“So I turned down a side street and cut through a parking lot, and unbeknownst to me, some guy had a wire strung across the parking lot but with no flag hanging from it,” Leno said. “So, you know, I didn’t see it until it was too late. It just clothesline me and, boom, knocked me off the bike.
“The bike kept going, and you know how that works out.”
He chose to keep this most recent accident to himself, however, given the massive amount of coverage from the garage fire several months ago. Hence why fans are only now hearing about it. In any case, it’s great seeing that Jay Leno remains in good health following his most recent accident.
