The Marvel Cinematic Universe is gradually getting closer to Avengers 5. The highly-anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe crossover is expected to pave the way for Avengers: Secret Wars. However, many details are still being kept under wraps, though new plot information and a list of potential heroes has been reportedly revealed.
A new report was able to break down some plot details for Avengers 5 and a rather lengthy list of which characters fans could expect to see. While this list should be taken with a grain of salt, it mostly lines up with what we’ve seen so far with the MCU’s latest phases.
The report comes from Cosmic Circus. Alex Perez claims that the film will have a similar structure to Avengers: Infinity War. This will allow the various characters to be broken up into separate teams, all of which will pave the way for the next Avengers movie – Avengers: Secret Wars – much like the concept did for Avengers: Endgame.
Perez claims that the film’s plot could include the TVA, which would make sense given their situation in the upcoming film Deadpool & Wolverine. This would also tie things back to the Disney Plus series Loki, especially because Perez claims that Loki’s Yggdrasil will take the place of the franchise’s iconic Infinity Stones as the new MacGuffin.
“Picture Yggdrasil as the new McGuffin/Infinity Gauntlet of the Multiverse Saga. He/She/They who control Yggdrasil will control over the entire Multiverse and bend it to their will. Everyone will want their hands on it,” Perez explains.
“Right now, Loki has control over it, and he is simply keeping the Multiverse at peace and preventing incursions as best he can to ensure that every universe is able to exist in stable harmony. But there is only so much the ‘God of Stories’ is able to do. After all, as much as I would want him to be, Loki is not a God. Much like everyone else, he is born, he lives, and eventually, he will die. And what do you think will happen then?”
It’s definitely an interesting setup – and one that makes sense given how these various storylines have been converging. As for the heroes we could expect to see in Avengers 5, Perez offers the following list:

Interestingly, Wasp actress Evangeline Lilly recently announced her retirement from acting. As such, it’s possible she could be recast, with Perez himself unclear who could play the role. However, he does share that “the Ant-Man and the Wasp duo would be one of the central motifs in this story.”
Obviously this should all be taken with a grain of salt. However, as we approach the production and then release of Avengers 5, more details are bound to be released in the near future. Hopefully we’ll know by then just how accurate this information is and what exactly we can expect to see in the fifth Avengers movie.
