As Warner Bros. continues to build out its cinematic universe based on DC Comics, key figures from the studio have begun to publicly highlight what they see as a defining difference between DC’s approach and that of their chief rival, Marvel Studios. The common refrain: DC’s films aim to be more serious, grounded, and mythic in tone. Warner Bros. Obviously, when the Marvel/Sony deal was announced, everyone knew that there were going to be certain changes made to the character. Marvel has officially unveiled the redesigned Spider-Man – appearing in Amazing Spider-Man which will debut in October. MTV reports that it will have Peter Parker finally stepping up as the founder of Parker Industries: “Peter Parker has stepped up,” writer Dan Slott says. “He’s grown.
