Infinity War: Chris Evans And Scarlett Johansson On Possible Captain America And Black Widow Romance

As seen in previous MCU movies, Black Widow (played by Scarlett Johansson) and Bruce Banner (played by Mark Ruffalo) had a love that seemed to blossom on the screen but was never quite reachable. In recent articles it seems that the two of them will go their separate ways and Black Widow being the none sentimental hero she is, will not think twice about it. That opens the conversation about the options for the other romances on screen. Fans have been playing with a few theories of what characters should have an on-screen love, and the two that seem to be the most popular is Captain America and Black Widow – but could we see it in Avengers: Infinity War?

ET Had the opportunity to bring this up in an interview with Scarlett Johansson and Chris Evans to see what they think about the possibility of this budding romance. Johansson’s response was a quite simple let down to those fans who are hoping for more than a friendship between the two heroes.

“It’s hard to say. I don’t think that romance has ever really been in the air for these two, it just doesn’t seem….sorry to disappoint.”

Chris Evans, who plays Captain America, also got his turn with putting this romance rumor to rest with him agreeing with what Johansson said and adding his own personal opinion on the two heroes

“I think in a lot of ways Cap certainly looks up to Black Widow. I think she’s always been a little wiser, a little more experienced, a little more callous in the way the world really is, and I think in Civil War Steve Rogers had to learn the hard way that things that you’re banking on don’t always…sometimes let you down, and I think in the last couple of years before we pick up in this film they’ve really kind of become this rock for one another, but I don’t know if it ever bleeds into a romance.”

Although we may not see a romance factor between the two, that will not ruin the great friendship they have on-screen that leads fans to loving the Captain America and Black Widow scenes. Let us hope that they don’t throw in any random romance scenes from two random heroes that just don’t fit together.

Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters April 27th following a 31-hour MCU marathon at AMC Theatres.
