Blumhouse’s Halloween movie is a very anticipated movie this year, probably the most anticipated horror movie. With recent rumors of a negative test screening surfacing on the internet, fans started wondering if it wasn’t any good. Those fears seem to have been laid to rest, however, as reports of footage that screened at CinemaCon have come out – saying the film is very scary!
Here are some details on what was shown, courtesy of Rooster Teeth:
“First footage of Halloween looks great. New story is that after he was shot by Loomis Michael was recommitted and Laurie has been preparing in case he ever breaks out. Some teenagers were talking amongst each other. “Wasn’t it her brother that killed all those people?’ ‘It wasn’t her brother, that’s something people made up.’ So, yeah. Bye-bye sequel storylines! There was a shot of Myers, post break-out, tormenting a girl in a bathroom stall. His hand goes over the door and drops a dozen bloody teeth on the floor. They’re not messing around with this one. It’s great to see the mask back in action. Also Laurie is never once shown as scared in the footage we saw. She’s a woman on a mission, just as much a hunter as Michael. Love that take.”

If you were even remotely nervous the upcoming ‘Halloween’ movie wouldn’t be scary and awesome it’s time to relax. The first footage they just showed at #CinemaCon2018 looked like everything you want it to be. pic.twitter.com/msqR0WMH5n

We were just the first people to see the trailer for the new Halloween. Even the trailer was scary. The take on the story looks self-aware and smart. Really cool visuals and Jamie Lee Curtis looks badass. Oh man, I can’t wait.

The new Halloween movie looks SOOOO GOOD. Story is set 40 years later on halloween night. Jamie Lee Curtis is a Sarah Connor like badass that has been training in case Michael Myers ever breaks out, and he has. Interesting true crime angle. Also dismisses all sequels #CinemaCon

Jamie Lee Curtis, who plays Laurie Strode in the film, said she saw the movie, and that it’s very scary:
“This movie is hella scary,” Curtis told the audience. “I just used a young person word and I’m almost 60. You guys tweet that I said hella.”
While also saying:
“[It’s] not the piece of s— Virus I made in the 1990s and I apologize for it.”
It looks like the Halloween movie will be everything fans want it to be when it hits theaters on October 19th.
