Creed was a critical and commercial success from director Ryan Coogler that no one expected. Many critics and fans were more than happy with this inclusion into the Rocky franchise and eagerly waited for any and all news for Creed 2.
The spin-off and sequel to the franchise that made Sylvester Stallone a household name finally gave actor Michael B. Jordan the recognition that had been long overdue.
Finally, we got a trailer for Creed 2 dropped online earlier this year and now MGM has released official stills from the movie to tide the fans over until the movie hits theaters.
The stills show us that Adonis played by Michael B. Jordan has a new crew rolling with him as he is set to meet his opponent in the ring. On the left we have a clear shot of Tony “Little Duke” Evers played by Wood Harris of The Wire fame.
Harris’s character is the son of Tony Evers Sr. played by Tony Burton who trained Apollo Creed himself. It looks like Little Duke has reconsidered his position in Creed and is now helping train Adonis. Like father, like son.
The former champion himself Rocky Balboa is here once again passing on his wisdom and insightful knowledge to Michael B. Jordan’s Adonis.
It looks like Balboa with undoubtedly aid the boxer in hopes of Adonis reaching his full potential and becoming the same level of greatness Apollo Creed had reached before his untimely death.
Even though Coogler has stepped aside as director and Steven Caple Jr has taken his place, the film still looks amazing.
Hopefully, Caple will give these characters well thought out character arcs and boxing set pieces that will reach the level of success that Creed gained when released in 2015.
