Crazy New Rumor For Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker Movie Probably Isn’t True

Comic book movies are a treasure trove of fan theories and supposed ‘spoilers’ that turn out to be nothing more than someone just trying to get clicks and likes. One of the most anticipated non-Marvel movies coming out, Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker, is no exception. While tons of behind the scenes pictures and videos have leaked online, and a basic synopsis has been released by Warner Bros, we still don’t know a whole lot about the film itself. Now, a user on Instagram has posted a ‘spoiler’ for the film that, quite frankly, makes zero sense.

It appears that it was deleted, but here’s what it said:

HUGE SPOILER – read below, IF NOT, AVOID!!! . . . . First off, Thomas is in his mid 60’s, Arthur is in his late 30’s early 40’s, more than possible for him to be the bastard son .Am I excited about this? Ehhh I don’t know, if done right it could be cool and a driving force for Arthur to hate Bruce in the future but we’ll see, and stop asking me about the source, I can’t get him in trouble so I obviously won’t put his name out there but he had several scenes back in Brooklyn and Newark among other locations so he’s seen a lot, and showed me proof of what he was saying and went into great detail, I don’t give a damn if you believe it or not but I don’t post things on here and say fact unless 100% proven. So idiotic comments like fake, bullshit and saying I’m making stuff up will get you blocked in a heartbeat. .PS. NOT A RUMOR, THIS IS CONFIRMED 100% . It def explains why he’s after him specifically, I’m starting to finally put this movie together now and it’s making sense So there you have it, Arthur is related to the Wayne family in this original origin film, and it explains his hatred and attacks towards Thomas, did Thomas leave Arthur’s mother in desperate times? Did she die and he was a no show? Ohhhhhhh mother fuckers this story might be better than I thought! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . #joker #thejoker #harleyquinn #harleyquinncosplay #jokercosplay #suicidesquad #cosplayer #horror #makeup #tattoos #tattoo #pennywise #gotham #cosplay #jaredleto #sketch #fashion #batman #dc #dceu #clown #heathledger #jokermovie #dccomics #fanart #meme #joaquinphoenix #coringa

Emanuel Rodriguez, the self proclaimed ‘Original Joker Artist’, who also has zero insight into the business (he works for a medical examiner’s office), somehow came across this ‘major spoiler’ for the film. He proclaims that Thomas Wayne apparently had an affair and that Arthur Fleck, who becomes the Joker, is his illegitimate son. Now, this not only doesn’t make sense, but its such a contrived and lazy writing cliché. Also, he basically shoots a hole in his own theory as he describes how it would work. He states that Thomas Wayne is in his 60’s and Fleck is in his 30’s, so the timing works. Except it doesn’t.

We know that a young Bruce Wayne has been cast for the film. When he parents are gunned down in the alley in front of him, he’s 12-13 years old. That would mean that Thomas Wayne had Bruce in his 50’s. That’s just dumb. Thomas Wayne has always been portrayed as a man in his late 40’s, early 50’s. And, while Brett Cullen, who is playing Thomas Wayne in the film, is 62 years old, he certainly doesn’t look it.

Now, on the extremely off chance that this rumor becomes truth, it would give credence as to way Joker is attacking Thomas Wayne in the BTS leaks. However, I think it makes more sense that the Joker is attacking him because he is a man of power, and attacking him creates anarchy. It looks like, in some BTS photos, that The Joker is trying to ‘run’ against him for political office. This is more about creating chaos.

Joker Joaquin Phoenix

I doubt that the strained reasoning of a scorned son would be used by this flick. It’s just too cliché. It’s awful writing, And, it makes the Joker’s justifications have too much of a foundation. It takes away from the character itself. We, as fans, should hope, nay PRAY, that this is just a made up rumor by some fan desperate for attention. Until more information is released by the studio, however, we won’t know for sure. The film arrives in theaters in October of 2019.
