First Trailer For ‘Corona Zombies’ Hits The Internet

The Coronavirus will leave a lasting impact on our world history, so it was only a matter of time that the event was reflected in popular culture. Due to how lengthy the filmmaking process is though, it was considered unlikely until films dealing with or referencing the Coronavirus were to be released. That’s where distributor Full Moon Features steps in, releasing a trailer for their upcoming horror/comedy Corona Zombies that is set to hit theaters next month.

While little is known about how long this project was in production, the trailer for the upcoming project is attempting to tackle the global pandemic with a darkly comedic edge. Check out the trailer along with Full Moon’s press statement about the project:

“Full Moon has always preached the philosophy of fun to deal with the heavy world we live in. We’re answering the current pandemic panic with our own goofy, gory, silly, satirical and irreverent riff with CORONA ZOMBIES, a ludicrous vision of a vile virus spiraling out of control, one that causes its victims to become cannibalistic, creepy and contagious Corona Zombies!”

Typically when covering news stories, I try to be as objective as possible, but this project is utter nonsense. With the look and feel of a Youtube video, this clearly-rushed production is a sad excuse to try in cash in on the Coronavirus, a deadly disease that has claimed thousands of lives. It’s completely asinine to try and cash in while the virus continues to get worse in our country, and I don’t see how anyone could watch something like this and find it humorous considering the toll the virus takes.

I am sure this will not be the last cheap project that shamelessly cashes in on the pandemic, but hopefully, it is.
