The beloved Resident Evil video game franchise is continuing to see a newfound resurgence in popularity. Aside from a variety of remakes including Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3, which have been praised by both critics and fans, the franchise is still apparently moving forward with a completely new Resident Evil 8. Of course, there hasn’t been an official announcement regarding Resident Evil 8 – but fans are still anticipating the game after several alleged leaks were made concerning the project. Now a new alleged Resident Evil 8 leak has come out on social media – and according to what’s being said, fans can expect the game to be “the darkest and most gruesome” installment to date.
Those are definitely some heavy statements to make, and they come from Twitter user Dusk Golem. He’s apparently been revealing details about both the Silent Hill and Resident Evil video game franchises’ futures, and mentioned that he doesn’t have much to say on the Silent Hill front other than he believes an announcement should be made soon.
As for Resident Evil 8, he was able to give a little more detail:
“RE8 I’m excited for the reveal, it’s by far the darkest & most gruesome RE yet.”
I don’t know much on Silent Hill I haven’t shared, but its apparently its revealed soon so I’m looking forward to it. I still believe it from what I was shown, but I do have a healthy skeptic in me.

He was also able to tease what we can expect for the upcoming game’s villains.

Obviously these details should be taken with a grain of salt. But considering how much success Capcom has been seeing with the Resident Evil video game franchise as of late, along with the various live-action interpretations currently being worked on, it’s no surprise they’d have a Resident Evil 8 in store for fans. Hopefully Dusk Golem is speaking the truth and we can expect a more official reveal or announcement in the near future.
