First Look At ‘The Suicide Squad’ Revealed By James Gunn

Dc FanDome is definitely the gift that keeps on giving. With great panels, tons of insight, and loads of new information, fans are getting all of the news that has been oh so lacking during this global pandemic quarantine. And one of the most anticipated comic book films ever has got to be James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad! Now, thanks to their panel at the Fandome, we’ve got our first trailer of sorts with a BTS video for the new wacky villain mash up!

James Gunn happily shared this BTS video at the end of The Suicide Squad panel. The film has an impressive and crazy cast, like the returning Margot Robbie, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney and Joel Kinneman, and the new additions of John Cena, Idris Alba, Pete Davidson, Michael Rooker, Sean Gunn, Peter Capaldi, Flula Borg, David Dastmalchian. Nathan Fillion, Daniela Melchior, Mayling Ng, and Alice Braga. And, as Gunn discussed in the panel, its got more explosions than most comic book movies combined. A cast like this is going to bring it all to the screen, and eclectic is putting it gently.

The movie looks to have a gritty, war-like film feel, but with plenty of signature Gunn humor as well as drama sprinkled through. The look of the flick is something to behold and looks to redeem Task Force X from the successful yet lambasted first outing by David Ayers. And, give it up to the costume design team, nailing these out of left field costumes to life, like they were ripped right off the pages of the comics.

The Suicide Squad serves as a sequel/soft reboot of the first film and brings the insanity of the comics straight to the silver screen. Get ready for what is sure to be a wild ride when this movie finally hits theaters in 2021.
